Preventative and Wellness
Sometimes we aren’t hurting. OR we don’t want to hurt after yard work, house cleaning, exercising, skiing, hiking, sitting too long… whatever activity it is you don’t want to suffer from after doing. This is what I consider preventative care, and I can help with that too. Typically, I need to know a bit about you and typical patterns of discomfort. Once we pin point certain areas of consistent issues, I can start analyzing what you are doing and what you could do better. Often the treatment involves strengthening unbalanced areas of your body. But sometimes it just takes a tweak on how you are actually doing the activity. The pace in which you are doing it and the amount of breaks your body may require are also areas that can be adjusted.
Being mindful is definitely a big component of preventative care and wellness. If you can’t tell when your body first starts to complain, then you can’t nip the problem sooner. I can help with awareness and mindfulness as well. Preventative care is actually quite fun! You get to learn a lot about yourself, hopefully before pain becomes an issue and distracts from what you need to know about you!
The wellness piece is more about self care and finding ways to give yourself a little love and hug each day. Because we all need that. Sometimes we don’t want to hang onto the little things that anger us, irritate us, put us in bad moods, etc. We want better control of our feelings and emotions. Here is how craniosacral work may be helpful for you; or breath work; and/or releasing trapped emotions…. I can help guide you through some of the irritations in your life through working on you. Because honestly… the only people we can change is ourselves. So, let’s start there.
